This week I also made my first plate of 'Brigadeiros'! Yep, that's right. Only after living here for over 3 years I got to make it. And boy, I made a mess in this kitchen! My adapted recipe did not work as planned and I ended up burning the first batch, oops! The second turned out fabulous, although due to the previous experience, its consistency wasn't perfect because I didn't cook it all the way (I couldn't burn it again!). I made it for a potluck/end-of-class gathering this past Wednesday.
This was also my last week of class, which means finals. You probably can imagine how stressed I was. Two exams and lots of projects to hand in. I couldn't wait for it to be over. As I've told you, I'm changing my major. I am very excited to start fresh, and for that I really need to organize myself for the semester to come or I'll go crazy. It's going to be a hell of a semester and I want to give my best and dive into it. For now I am looking forward to my week with evenings free again :)
The next couple of weeks will be busy but definitely fun. The kids of the family I live with will be home on Winter break and we'll get ready for Christmas. That's the only time of the year I feel homesick. I just can't get used to spending this holiday away from home, but hopefully, since the house will have lots of guests - my host mom's sister and husband plus her parents - I won't feel it so much.
